Future Retail&nbsp;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Future Retail used to be one of the major chains in the retail industry with over 1,500 stores across the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Future Retail started facing debt issues in 2012, particularly as the company struggled to service loans. Caf\u00e9 Coffee Day<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Caf\u00e9 Coffee Day, which once had a dominating presence in India with over <strong>1,700 outlets<\/strong>, is one of the most well-known examples of retail collapse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Saddled with over <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketfeed.com\/read\/en\/the-rise-fall-and-revival-of-cafe-coffee-day-ccd\">\u20b97,000 crore in debt in 2019<\/a>, the company struggled to sustain operations and was forced to close several outlets after facing severe financial difficulties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To manage its mounting debts and streamline costs, CCD closed 73% of its outlets, leaving it with just around 450 operational stores by 2023. This downsizing was part of its restructuring strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The closures were also influenced by intense competition from emerging coffee chains, the rapid growth of e-commerce food delivery, and shifting consumer preferences toward at-home coffee experiences\u200b<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"4_Benetton\"><\/span><strong>4.
